SELF MADE PRISON CELLS

I have heard someone say the world is a prison; we are all confined in it and cannot escape.  Why in a way this may be true, we can’t escape the planet and with present science we cannot sustain beyond our atmosphere, so therefore not being able to escape makes this world a prison.  So for most of us non-scientists we are stuck here, and there is little point in trying to break those prison boundaries.  So I would say lets do the next best think, destroy the prisons that we ourselves create.  No not the prisons we use to keep dangerous people away from society, the prison that individuals make themselves.

An example would be the self made prison of mine which keeps me in a safe place.  This safe place is a world I live in called routine.  I do the same job each day, see the same type of people, come home relax with my wife, eat, play games and sleep, then repeat.

I am scared of permanently breaking this routine, like trying for another job, which may lead to better things, better money and a better life.  Like most people I will complain I hate my job, but do very little to change it.  I tell people and myself I am open to change, but am I?  It depends on the change, can I place that change into my routine?  Or is that changing to scary or hard to fit in?  I like to tell people I am an individual, and in many ways I am, but in so many more I am not.  I live how people expect to live, and I am within social bounds at work to.  Society has a need to pocket us into pigeonholes, which is another prison.  Why do we let this happen, because it is part of our routine.  We as a species need routine, we sleep at night, do stuff during the day. (well most of us, some break this).

These prisons that trap us into the belief of not trying new things are incredibly powerful.  Is it a form of a self-preservation instinct? To prevent ourselves from being hurt?  I think it is.  We do not try as failure hurts, but if we don’t try we never progress, and when we don’t progress we get frustrated and upset.  So in other words we get hurt no matter what we do.  Very pessimistic of me.  I know some people out there would say I try and do it, don’t always succeed but I do try.  I know people do, and good luck to them, but not all of us are willing to do that because of prison of routine we inflict upon ourselves.  It is easy to say that this routine prison is not inflicted by me, due to it being society norm, but it is in reality us the individual who confines ourselves from breaking the walls down.  Some of us will say I will be me, I will step out of this prison and go forth and do this.  Many more wont.  Others will say if you don’t like it, so what, I’ll just walk round you and continue.

Which one is best?

Sitting within in your prison, you have a very good idea what obstacles life will throw at you, but it may well be a static frustrating boring life. We will always look for the easy way to get something, unless we have no choice, then when pushed, we will go out and do what is necessary to progress.  Breaking the walls and going for everything is good, but you will get beaten down a lot which is bound to pile up on you and get you down eventually, but when you do get what you want the victory is that much sweeter, but it is also possible to lose friends this ways why you trample your way to the top.  Walking round I believe to be a good way, you try your best, if people try to discourage you, accept what they say, then walk onwards and keep trying, there opinion is just as valid as yours, does not mean either of you are right.

Remember Opinions are like arseholes, everyone has one, but most are full of shit.

Most of us will carry on in our own way, live our own life, face the challenges in whatever way we choose.  We may stay in our prisons, we may break out, and after all it is our choice, if I want to be in my self made prison, I will, and when I choose to break out, I will.  Life is what we make of it, what you put in, is what you get back.
